CWEI closed @ 14, unchanged, Bid 13 3/4 X Ask 14....Vol..88.9K

Not much going on today with CWEI. I am in the process of attempting to eliminate errors in CWEI's earnings information and financial data on the Internet. If you know of a site that does not have the correct financial data on CWEI, please do one of two things 1) pass the URL to me via Email and I will follow up on it, or 2) find out from the webmaster at the site via Email who they obtain their financial data from, and pass that information to me via Email. I believe there are only a few root sites for the financial data; if we can correct these we will all be better off. I noticed that Tuesday's IBD had CWEI's fiscal year estimate back down to $1.50 from $1.65; I think this is probably an after affect of the Paine Webber error; I have Emailed the correct information to the IBD and also asked what their sources of financial data are.

CWEI has 8.92M shares out, and estimates I have seen for Q1 '97 are 0.39 to 0.44--these may be revised downward as they are dependent on oil prices. Being that the seismic survey is starting late in the quarter, costs incurred from this effort will be much less than originally contemplated; also there are three rigs drilling now vs. two in the 4th quarter.

The March Futures contract on oil is closed; we will be working with the April contracts now.

Oil $21.66, down 0.32 (CWEI received $18.78 in Q1 1996)
Natural Gas, $1.94, up 0.02 (CWEI received $2.29 in Q1 1996)

CWEI receives a premium for the liquids in its natural gas, on top of the stated priced.
