I am in the business of Telecommunications and Computer Networking by trade. I bought in at 40.5 and bought again at 29. I will continue to buy this stock in the next few weeks. If you are in for the long run, you pain will turn into your gain. Despite a lot of false rumor, Cascade is still have a lot of lead in their technology and software in combining IP switching into Frame Relay/ATM switch. The kind of technology that is badly needed at 3COM, Bay Networks and Cabletron System to break into the carrier market. 3COM has tried to do something with their lack of market share in the carrier market with the acquition of OnStream but that was a fibble attempt. I like what happenning to both 3COM and CASCADE the last few weeks because it can pave the way for both companies to merge since they are both rely on switching instead of routing. Especially, since they are already formed an alliance with IBM to combat Cisco. I don't to bore anyone ith the technical details but I have in the Telecommunications/
Networking business long enough to know a good technology match. And a merge between 3COM and CASCADE is a much better match than the CISCO & STRATACOM. The best thing about it is it won't cost 3COM four billion to accomplish this feat.
