Everybody has their own political opinions. There is no need to go for the throat. You are correct, the price of war is indeed unimaginable, but so too can be the price of inaction. The jews suffered far too long under Nazi germany because we didn't act quickly enough. Now the moslems have been victimized for 10 years and still the atrocities are dismissed for poor excuses, such as, "our own country is TEEMING with racial unrest". Our social unrest is not comparable with whole towns being pulled from their homes and having their throats cut, or the carving off of someones genitals, in front of their children. These are not isolated incidents. These massacres have occurred since Milosovic destroyed yugoslavia and raided bosnia. I will say that you sound ignorant of the true circumstances regarding this situation, and recommend reading "The history of the Balkans" vol I and II (forgot the author), as well as "The Tenth Circle of Hell". Also, if "humanitarian deployment" were not good enough reason, perhaps the destabilisation of the european union would be good enough reason. This fight is not about ethnicity, it is about thieves pulling people out of their homes and murdering anyone who might be able to resist (preemptively) and then stealing all their possessions to further fund the insanity!
There were pascifists who opposed entering the war against hitler and there will be pascifists in this war. For the first time in my life, I feel the US has done the right thing, with respect to the decision for war. Iraq had elements of humanity, thinly veiled for our thirst for oil, but this conflict is on much higher ground, morally. Don't let the death toll get to six million before you feel guilty about your politics. |
