Amazon really opened up the Pandora Box. If it can't make a dent on eBay, it will jeopardize its books and CD business. AMZN has to win this battle within very short period of time (just see how much has been presented on its debut); otherwise, they can't justify those negative earnings for too long. The battle will heat up very soon, and it will be interesting to see how eBay is going to fight it - maybe attacking AMZN's core business by joint forces. Don't make yourselves believe the pie is big enough for two or more players - the market share will probably be sharable, but not the stock prices.
