I would agree that the notion of FDX as an Internet play is overblown. However, it is hard to deny that there is an overall trend toward globalization of business and reduction of barriers to international commerce, and this, combined with increasing use of the Internet for both business-to-individual and business-to-business transactions, should result in steady growth in the air cargo business, particularly internationally. Asian recovery will be a considerable factor, as FDX is thoroughly dominant in this market.

Is FDX a pure Internet play? No. Is it the dominant global player in an expanding business? Yes.
