Not wanting to nitpick, but can I point out two things about that article? One: it deals with analog GaAs (Anadigics, TriQuint, Alpha) not digital GaAs (Vitesse). Forgive me if you knew that.

Second: it really exagerates silicon's "comeback". For example, no mention is made that Motorola is continuing to introduce new analog GaAs parts as well.

I was at that show as well, and I walked away with the opposite conclusions. I suspect that both the EE Times reporter and myself are both irredeemably biased
