Chaz, free advice for ICO too! Also for Iridium.

Political advice for the President too. For example, many Americans have a fantasy that their country is a promoter of free trade.

Surprise, surprise, the USA bureaucrats have put a recommendation to President Clinton, having had it wend its way through the right vested interests, that New Zealand and Australian sheep meat be restricted from sale in the USA. USA citizens should not be allowed to buy it. They should not be free to choose. They must buy the more expensive USA produced sheep meat.

Some MIT trained economic analysts would see that the lack of income will mean NZ and Australian sheep meat producers will not be able to buy Globalstar handsets. Which means the USA companies producing them, the satellites and the suppliers of goods and services to the producers of those things will miss out on sales too. Which means those Americans won't be able to buy the USA farmer's expensive sheep meat - they'll buy cheaper beef or bacon instead.

Now it's up to Bill Free Trade Clinton and Charlene Free Trade Barshefsky to decide whether to pander to the restrictive trade practises crowd.

See, lots of free advice. Of course they read it and see sense! You watch, Bill won't support the restriction. Charlene can figure it out. They know that worldwide depressions start with a few trade restrictions then silly people start 'paying back' by cutting off their nose to spite their face. Soon the whole world would have faces with no noses.
