Duke - Why no stock volume? Beats me since the "news" looks good. Over on the TDFX/STBI board, there's some anguish over DELL's latest adverts which reference DIMD video cards (and ATI's to be fair) while last month the adverts touted STB (which is being acquired by TDFX) and nVidia cards. Even if DELL is putting both DIMD and TDFX cards in its boxes (at the buyer's choice if the buyer has one, I expect), it marks the first time some of us have seen DIMD's name in a DELL advert in a long time (like, the *last* time I owned DIMD). This likely means that DIMD's per unit costs will go down (presuming, of course, that overhead is spread over more cards and chipset costs don't rise accordingly on higher volume) at least a little. Sales to OEMs may be low margin, but the per card sales and advert costs are correspondingly low, too.

I just had a horrible (?) thought. Do you suppose video board makers "pay" DELL to put their names in its adverts, particularly when they have "new product" to sell?

Regards,
Harry J.
