Merrill Sees Long-Term Price Pressure in PC Industry, CNBC Says

New York, March 31 (Bloomberg) -- Merrill Lynch & Co. sees more signs of long-term pricing pressure in the PC industry, financial news network CNBC reported, citing an unnamed Merrill anlyst. The analyst said Merrill prefers enterprise names in the PC area like EMC Corp. and Sun Microsystems Inc.

Merrill also prefers Dell Computer Corp. over Compaq Computer Corp., CNBC said.

PC shipments and sales for all manufacturers have been disappointing in the first months of this year, as corporate sales slowed and consumers scaled back purchases. (CNBC 3/31) www.cnbc.com)
