Hello Arrow,
I acknowledge that Wintel's impact on IBM's installed mainframe base will not really begin until Merced timeframe, (in about a year from now). However, in addition to the price competition from the direct mainframe competitors that you cite, I believe Wintel has all ready had an impact on IBM in the Workstation, and especially, the Server markets.
