Only FORE was dumb enough to commit to ONE technology to go to its grave with(granted, they eventually hedged with their purchase of Berkeley etc). Cisco again faces another intermediate challenge to execute through. As I remember, they haven't done that poorly in execution in the past however. Moreover, Cisco talks about PMC at conferences and says that PMC is their key silicon vendor. PMC sets the standards so they obviously know all about technology shifts.
