The introduction of Dell's flagship consumer line into one of the

our consumer strategy for this exciting marketplace."

major cities and almost 80 municipal areas now purchase directly
through Dell sales representatives and the www.dell.com/ap Web site. In
addition to the Dimension XPS T product, Dell sells OptiPlex,
PowerEdge, and Latitude products in China. In November 1998, Dell
opened a 135,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in Xiamen to serve
the Chinese market. According to the IDC Q498 report, Dell sales in
China surged 205 percent in Q498 over Q497.
