Does anyone know if there was an article on USRX in IBD today.
Seems to me that tech stocks are oversold and panic has truly set in. The growth rates on many of these companies are still high relative to price multiples. Relative to other industries some tech stocks even look like bargains. However, I do believe that investing in tech stocks is much riskier today than ever before due to the nature of the investors, speculators, manipulators, analysts, and everyone else who is trading and saying things based on momentum and perceptions rather than facts.
I think Intel may have shot itself in the foot by venturing into networks and other areas. They seem to have lost sight of the low-end, value part of the microprocessor market. In adition, they are not a player in the PDA area, unlike MSFT which released Windows CE. 3coms quick response to Intel's price cuts was an excellent strategic decision, I feel. Also, Compaq may have made a mistake by releasing such a low-priced, relatively high performance
PC. Cannibalism may set in and cause a shift to lower priced products. Such a trend will hurt many PC makers. Everyone will still want 56K modems, though!
Any thoughts?
