Well, the part about 500 is misleading. This only boils down to a few varieties of plants. I'm not sure why they would say "500 foods untested" except to have an eye-catching title.

Also, many (all?) ag varieties have moved into the world food supply over many years without specific testing in each country, so what's the point? This includes varieties with traits developed through irradiation and chemical mutation.
