The Petaquilla project is world class and has been called a ``surefire winner'' by mining industry analyst CRU International in an interview published in the February 19, 1997 edition of the Financial Times. CRU ranks Petaquilla as one of the top five copper projects in the world alongside the Collahuasi property of Falconbridge and Minorco in Chile, Cambior's La Granja project in Peru and the Agua Rica joint venture of BHP and Northern Orion in Argentina.
The ten deposits which comprise the Petaquilla project are currently estimated to host geological resources totalling 3.7 billion tonnes containing 31.8 billion pounds of copper, 9.8 million ounces of gold and 962 millionpounds of molybdenum.
