This was somewhat surprising as the release really said nothing new except the implicit acknowledgment that they would NOT meet their previously guided timeframe. I suspect that since ARTT is primarily a retail "momentum" stock, MMs knew they could hose the early buyers.

Look, Hirsch either intentionally or ignorantly mislead the street. I think it was a little of both. I think he was both playing political games (using safe harbor signaling license), as well as being ignorant of street reaction to now obviously cavalier guidance. This is not just gauged by current trading MO, but also current and potential future buy and sell side research and purchase decisions.

Now I tend to believe that some deal will in fact come through, and that the stock will move higher as a result. But there is a lot of buy and sell side tracking going on. Hirsch now has much more of a challenge in interacting with the street. He's got one strike in a two strike at-bat.
