'hasta la muerte todo es vida' - literally, 'until death all is life' .. maybe better translated somewhere between 'life's a bitch, but consider the alternative' and 'ya only go around once, Sunshine, ya better make it good, the grave's the place to rest' ... very mexicano this saying, a friend of mine often mutters it, just before he does something fun but stupid -g-

'... y quien no se arriesga no pasa la mar' - literally, 'he who does not risk himself does not cross the sea' [cruza often used in place of pasa] ... more loosely - 'faint heart ne'er won fair lady' or 'nothing ventured, nothing gained'. Trucks with this painted on their bumpers should be given a wide berth by pedestrians.

Jorj is thinking of sé, 'i know' ... se is the reflexive

My Dotcommie of yesterday seems to have changed direction -
quote.yahoo.com - maybe they don't 'just go up'.
