I think what you describe is illegal in the U.S.

State laws govern prescribing requirements. There is some variability. In Missouri, it is illegal for a physician to prescribe any medication outside of an established physician-patient relationship. That relationship is defined as the physician taking a history and performing some physical exam on the patient within the last twelve months, and having written records to document that such actions occurred.

I have personal knowledge that somebody from the Board of Registration for the Healing Arts in Missouri applied online (as a patient)and received a prescription for Viagra from some internet outfit located in Minnesota last summer. The Board threatened to prosecute them for violating Missouri state laws regarding medical fraud and the website disappeared.
