Just to give Daniel additional fodder to ridicule me as a ham-bone, I also performed in and directed plays, both straight and musical. My best role in a musical was as Horace Vandergeller in "Hello Dolly", the role that Walter Matthau played in the movie. I liked various of the dramatic roles--- Deputy Governor Danforth in "The Crucible", the Player King in "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead", to name a play or two. But I especially liked directing. I put on a production of "A Man for All Seasons", the Medieval morality play "Everyman", and Plato's "Symposium", as well as a few one acts and small plays I had written. By the way, ian will be tickled to know, if he sees this, that in "Everyman" I played the voice of God....
