The following new product press release was published on Business Wire on March 31, 1999:

IMP PUSHES EL LAMP DRIVE TECHNOLOGY OVER 200 VOLTS

The first two paragraphs of the release state:

SAN JOSE, CA., March 31, 1999 -- IMP, Inc. (NASDAQ: IMPX) today added the IMP528 Electroluminescent (EL) lamp driver to its Power Management analog integrated circuit (IC) product family. Featuring a 220-volt peak-to-peak AC drive signal derived from DC or battery sources as low as 2 volts, the IMP528 is IMP's third proprietary EL lamp driver. The high-voltage EL lamp driver allows pager and cellular phone display screens to be easily backlit by electroluminescent lamps without bulky transformers. EL lamp brightness increases with higher drive voltages.

"The IMP528 targets applications where maximum display brightness is needed over a wide operating voltage range," said Barry Wiley, IMP vice president of marketing, sales and applications. "By working with key customers early in the design process, these new devices are expected to rapidly become the standard EL lamp driver in wireless communications devices."
