Yes, but I don't think you get why:

No one is disputing that the company should negotiate the very BEST deal possible for shareholders. The point of criticism is that Hirsch as CEO, should know better than to string the street along with false guidance.

Can you think of any reason other than cavalierly playing political games by giving public misguidance toward Q1 when he could VERY easily have allowed the suggested slippage into Q2 for announcing a deal? If he feels he needs to (as well as feels free to take the license to) resort to public misguidance to bring a potential "better" deal to the table sooner, the repercussion is a loss of street respect for his word. Was it worth it? Perhaps, but we'll never know.
