Hey Alex,

Yes and No! If you own the stock you can sell a call and it is called covered call writing. If you don't own the stock and you have LOTS OF MONEY to back you up in your brokage account, you could go "naked" and sell a call. So, the no is only true if you don't have money and the trading experience.
