Hello Phil!

No, I agree with you and you are completely correct. I think MSFT has been fighting with themselves on this issue too - "How to get directories into people's minds to sell MSFT products and at the same time, NOT sell NDS??" That's the new $64 million (or billion) marketing question for MSFT.

I can't wait to see what they come up with. Right now, all they are doing is try to bash NDS which in also tends to focus people on NDS anyway (to see why MSFT is trying to say).

Now I know some people are wondering why this doesn't work in reverse...well, let's just say that you can do MORE with NDS today (and the near future for that matter) than you could do with Active Directory (the beta?). That in itself enhances MSFTs dilemma too. How do you tout an inferior product?

Then again, I shouldn't really say that. Even though NDS and AD are called directories, each one does it differently and has inherent advantages and disadvantages. But then again, people have been comparing carmakers interpretations of what a luxury car is for years....NDS, there is NO SUBSTITUTE.
