Why the forceful conclusion that Hirsch must be a naif, a manipulator, or an outright liar? Why is it a ding against Hirsch if a last-minute offer shows up? Why is it so hard to believe? Why rush to judgement ("He's got one strike in a two strike at-bat") when the facts aren't yet known?
