life worth living I don't expect conflict, even serious conflict to go away. People have various goals and actions and these get in the way of each other. I had a test of wills with my son this morning which was only resolved by the suspension of certain privledges until it was resolved to my satisfaction, no real compromise but I thought the issue important. When there is flexibility on issues it can sometimes buffer the conflict such that it does not become larger than it needs. A buoy can be anchored in an ice field and bob and weave around the floes while overall remaining in the same spot, while a post in the same field will be battered. The thing that gets my in Yugoslavia is that the people around Belgrade had the opportunity (after Tito at least) to move to Kosovo if they so desired. It's considered kind of a backwater to them and not as desirable as the big city. TP
