When you say Linux 5.2, I assume you mean RedHat 5.2.

If this is the case, you should not need to download any files from the XFree86 site, but instead use the RPM files provided on your RH CD.

After the files are installed, configuring them is another story. But my understanding of the RedHat install is that you are walked thru this when you first install the system...
Anyone using RH5.2 want to comment?
