Wednesday March 31, 3:22 pm Eastern Time US stocks lower late afternoon, turnaround seen NEW YORK, March 31 (Reuters) - Stocks edged lower in late afternoon Wednesday, though traders said they expected some extra volatility near the close as portfolio managers add top-performing names to their books before the quarter ends.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average, which had been hovering near unchanged levels for most of the afternoon, was off 56 points at 9857.
The technology-laden Nasdaq Composite Index was off six points at 2474.

But traders said concerns about the NATO air strikes in Kosovo, as well as the upcoming earnings period, were weighing on the market... ------------------------------------------
(Interesting that if Coke had gotten it's news out one day later, the DOW would likely not have made its historic close over 10,000.)
