Interesing, huh guys? I was watching level II on NCES for the last 45 minutes, and one MM (symbol starts with S--should have written it down) was accumulating, running it up to 8 then backing off to 7 13/16 and taking every bid hit thrown at him the rest of the day without backing off, through the close. (Lower prints were just MM profit.) He never showed more than 100 shares bid the whole time, hoping to entice others to sell (as MM's in this position often do.)

Note also the noticable increase in NOV the past two days, and the rumors on the yahoo thread that something big will happen next few days.

Leads me to suspect that one or more major players thinks a full or partial buyout is about to be announced that'll ease NOV's liquidity worries and send NCES way up.

FWIW, I sold my "trading half" of my position at 7 15/16, but after seeing the unwavering bid bought it back at 7 11/16. (I know--I have no idea why I was able to get that price, but bid-ask spread was crossed at one point, so I figured what the heck, bid for the shares, and got 'em. Would welcome any theories as to how this happened. I was using the ISLD ECN via Datek, but the shares weren't on ISLD.)
