Coincidence? MS gets blasted by the media and everyone else when its revealed that they are using an embedded GUID to track Office docs. A frightening invasion of privacy. A few days later, the Melissa virus is released. This macro virus gets more media attention than any other in history, even though it doesn't actually harm anything. AMAZING!!!! They found the guy who wrote it!!! How? By using that very same secret GUID that the privacy groups hate. What a coincidence!!!! Maybe I'm just getting cynical in my old age, but I ain't buying it.
