taxman, msft usually announces earnings on a monday or tuesday following options expirations. Imho, the best run up to earnings may be up to the friday of april expiration. As the volatility is low, a big move in the stock could mean big profits. This time you may actually get a drop in the price of the stock on Monday (if earnings are released on that date) as some want out while the attention is on earnings. When attention shifts to the trial, we may get a lot of sellers.

In order to make the big bucks on MSFT options, Aprils are the ticket.
1 to 2 weeks before expiration is the way to do it in my opinion. If you are a little conservative, May is a much better bet. I have not decided which strategy is best but I am leaning towards the Aprils if we see a drop of a few more dollars.

BTW-- I like your lower case typing---it gives a certain uniqueness to your posts.
