Jim Re<<And no real volume on the K6-III-450s>>

Compaq recently placed a K6-III 450 based system on their website, that computer is currently available from stock and is one of the only 6 desktop they sell online. One can only speculate as to how many that translates to. None of the vendors at pricewatch.com have the K6-III 450 but they never expected to have them by now. It is very possible that K6-III 450's are yielding well but the ramped up volume has not reached the market yet. Hopefully they will soon.

Also I would very much be interested to hear what AMD's market share in notbook sector looks right now, it must be rapidly expanding. I like to hear what you or others know about the ASP's of mobile CPU's for AMD. Do all notebooks based on AMD use the more expensive "mobile" version or is that a practices by only tier one OEM's. How can one tell?
