Brian: There is an excellent article in this week's Businessweek
magazine on European "dealmaking". It cites all of the megadeals
that have been made in Europe recently as evidence of an ongoing
and improving M & A hotbed. The author believes that we "ain't seen
nothin' yet". He thinks that European activity may rival the Amer-
ican frenzy of recent years, and telecom is mentioned prominently.
Also indicates that big prices are the norm now and even larger ones
are in the offing. Without a doubt VYTL stockholders are in a
great position. Personally I thought we might make more money by
remaining independent at least until the first or second quarter of
next year, but after reading the article, I am undecided. Whatever,
I'm just happy to be smack in the middle of it all. My average price
is around $13.00, so I'll not complain whatever happens.
Good trading,
Jack Gibson
