All, the following is Telephony Magazine's take on the subject of MSN's DSL offering.

DSL goes mainstream

Microsoft began trials of its high-speed digital subscriber line in four cities. The
DSL service, MSN Internet Access DSL, provides consumers with connection
speeds of up to 8 Mb/s over existing telephone lines. The trials began in Atlanta
and Seattle and should begin soon in Chicago and San Diego. Microsoft plans to
offer the services in at least 20 U.S. cities by fall.

In related news, Bell Atlantic.net will reduce the price of its entry-level and
professional DSL services and Internet access by $10 starting April 1. The 640
kb/s line and Internet access will cost 49.95 for unlimited use.
