>>Jesse - pray tell what is a mobile on-site bulk processing plant, a crusher?
NR:
"..Since 1995, at the beginning of the Chinchaga diamond program, Marum Resources Inc. has been acquiring the components of a mobile bulk sample processing plant. The equipment is in storage in Calgary and Edmonton and is readily available for mobilization to the Chinchaga area."

>>I would be curious to know specifically what components have been acquired.<<

Here's our answer, Jimsy (also, an answer to a previous question!):

Thanks for your question about the mobile plant. Happy to oblige. By the way, your fellow posters are welcome to ask questions of me directly. The tougher they are the more I like them. president@marumresources.com

Re: The Mobile Plant, its not pretty and BTW it is not a DMS (Dense Media Separation) plant. It consists of:
- 2 crushers
- 1 impactor
- 1 trommel
- 2 mills
- vibratory screens and classifiers
- de-sliming equipment
- generator sets
- trucks and quads,
- a lot of tools and spare parts
- and, most importantly, a mobile pleitz jig.

The idea is to produce a concentrate by eliminating clays and any particles less that 100 microns, i.e. less than 0.1 mm. In practice, for diamond recovery we would likely search for a practical cut-off determined by the nature of the material, probably in the 200 to 400 micron range. The resulting concentrate can then be gravity separated or sent for caustic fusion.

The pleitz jig is deadly. It is equipped with its own water supply tanks for field use and has an 18 inch diameter vibrating screen device. It is truly a wonder to see in action. A pyrope or diamond will be driven right into the collection spot with almost mathematical precision. It is very reliable.

About the lack of placer diamonds in the area. It is somewhat remote and is primarily a logging, farming, trapping, hunting area. More importantly is it only accessible in the high summer when the creeks are dry and you can placer prospect, or when it is all frozen over.
