In answer to your comment. The two producers of the Power PC that come to my mind (are there more?) are Motorola, and IBM. MOT has a lot of experience in satelites. I can easily believe that they military industrial complex has programming tools for their chips. I believe that the military is a major purchaser of BWSI products. IBM is always looking for a sucker, oops I mean customer for their unwanted chip production capacity. They cannot mass market Power PC computers, because after Jobs sold out to the devil, oops I mean Bill Gates, no one else was allowed to sell Apple compatibles. IBM is developing (most of?) their big iron around the Power PC architecture (and expanding it in incompatible ways). Bottom line for IBM would be a way to make a few bucks from their fabs.

I have no information as to which supplier BWSI would be using, but you can bet that MOT will supply the ruggedized ones. I find it unlikely that BWSI would at these prices be bothering with IBM (yet). Will this be a big seller, not likely. Will it be profitable, likely in my estimation. Will it be a home run, see answer to big seller question.

I finally unloaded this dog. You all may play with the bone.

Best of luck

Peter
ps i may own this one later (don't hold your breath).
