Thanks, E.
Yeah, I've been through the xf86config program, but only once since I knew I needed to be root(superuser)I knew the configs for my Impression3 SVGA monitor (all in the manual). Still got those flames. I remember this flame problem with my earlier Commodore Amiga 1200 computer, when setting the resolution rate there. That's another story.
I'm pretty sure I have been 'close enough' with the res rates for this multisync monitor, trying a few alternatives, though only one, with fair certainty, AFTER I became root.

Do you know where the configs you create get stored (path) I want to make sure I have not (like I think I did) created several of these. When you just say 'yes', picking the default name for your creation, does it overwrite the previous one with the same name? Is there a command I can give to search for all the files with say, config.* I think I need to clean house a bit? Also, if you know if the crated file only goes to one directory? (maybe the search command will tell all).

Thanks so far!
