Joe, I like big powerful dogs that can give me a workout when I hunt. The Old Yellow Dog was a beauty when he was young. Still within standard limits by breed he has always been a big boy. During the summer months his weight would be about 95 lbs, during hunting season, you guessed it, 90.9 lbs. The "Pup" should end up about the same size. Much of it has to do with how many times a day you feed them when they are pups and how much.
If you see the Old Yellow Dog move in a field today from a distance you would think he is still in his working years. The old boy will be 12 in July, that's 84 in people years. We hike him every Sunday and I give him some retrieves when I train the Pup as the old man still wants to play. He still runs flat out when I send him. 909 BLUE
