James, a small clarification - their products are much more similar to those produced by Anadigics (ANAD) and TriQuint (TQNT) than Vitesse. All four companies make GaAs semiconductors (a high performance alternative to silicon), but Vitesse concentrates on digital chips that are used in things like fiber optic networks, whereas the other three make analog GaAs chips that are used in wireless systems. So the fortunes of Celeritek, Anadigics and TriQuint are wound up in the forecast for the wireless industry, while Vitesse is committed to the "wired" or "fibered" communications industry.

Celertitek is different from Anadigics and TriQuint in that up to now their primary focus has been on packaging up their chips into subsystems and modules, and then selling them that. But their most recent filings and press releases show that they have landed a contract for chips for cell phones from Ericsson, and that they are beefing up their ability to ship individual chips.

Cheers,
Marie
