Robert, give me a break. You apperently do not understand how
Intel works. Intel could have a better low-cost media chip out
in the mkt. in 3 months time if it wanted to. Why don't they?
hmmm... maybe because they're capacity constrained and would like
to focus on the high margin chips...hmmm, maybe because there is an
unproven mkt. for "low-end" PCs (from past history) and they want
to see if it actually sells first before committing heavy resources.
From intel's perspective, this little cyrx experiment is marketing
research for Intel. Hey, for some reason, if this $1000 PC sells
really well and no one wants the 166, 200 Intel chips, believe me,
Intel could have these chips flying out the door before cyrx knew
what hit them. Don't underestimate the flexibilty of Intel.
They can turn on a dime. Good luck with cyrx. You'll need it.
regards,
joey
