TNT is something akin to HBO? I have not seen its version of "A Man for All Seasons". Does it hold closely to the original? I can certainly imagine Redgrave as Alice, but can hardly imagine anyone other than Scofield as More.

I do not think his problem concerned More's religion per se. I remember him rejecting More because of his views on the reformers. Or maybe he did not accept something about Bolt's More. I am not exactly sure, but it did not seem to concern religion. I know that when I have discussed More with him, he has seemed ambivalent. But when I have discussed Bolt's play with him, he has become quite decisive.

You are correct about the play being hard to resist. It is quite a work. There are many very nice features in it, and even some good humour. I just exposed my son to Plato's Euthyphro, Apology and Crito. These short works share some obvious similarities with Bolt's play, one of them being their irresistibility.
