A glimse of the future

It's now Feb 22, 2001 and the warrantee on the Presario 2000
I bought in Dec of 97 is up. I'm getting ready to install the
Chinese replacement motherboard with Cyrix M3 GX 1000mhz
chipset I bought at the computer show for $250. Let me get the
instructions out here.
1. Place computer on or near electric stove and ground self.
2. With bread knife or other instrument break Compaq warrantee
seal.
3. Remove one screw and open case.
4. Pull wires from board and push them aside. Do not worry
they have key and fit back nicely.
5. Remove (big joke) 2 Gig hard drive and throw with MB in
trash can for recycle.
6. Insert new motherboard and remove 32 terabyte Texas Long
horn cattle brain storage device from shipping take
home container.
7. Install in computer and close case.
8. If problem don't call Fuchi. He now new ambassador to China
President Kemp just appoint him.
That was easy enough. Now let me hook up the sattelite download
link to the internet. I can't wait to see the full motion video
hologram of President Kemps speech. He's giving an award to some
guy named Chriss at CCC(Caldera* Compaq Cyrix) for his pivotal
role in redefining the home PC back in 97. That was the start
of the decline in Intel. The quake in 98 almost finished them.
They keep saying they're coming back. Spencer Kat printed a
rumor that they are building something code named HAL 9000.
It's supposed to contain 9000 Pentium MMX they collected from
recycling cans back in 97. But everyone knows them by now.
The Hal 9000 probably won't be out til 02 if ever.
It's rumored that Norda of Caldera will become CEO of Cyrix
next year. I hope he's good. Cyrix has been going to $50 and
splitting every year since 97. They now have a market cap of
$8 billion an I'm still hanging on to the 1000sh I got in 96.
I am sure glad I sold the Creative and Rockwell stock back in
97. They and a bunch of Diamond stealth guys went down the
tubes after the 5GX86 announcement.

* In the greatest lawsuit in history Caldera(formerly Novell
Dos 7, formerly Digital Research) sued Microsoft and won an
unprecidented 20 billion in compensatory damages and 60 billion
in punitive damages for Microsofts copywrite infringement.
They bought the MS tradmark at the bankruptcy auction and
retired it in 99.
