from the past...

Santa Cruz releases the legendary XI and TAU. These
boards were the first ASR shape on the market and set
the trend for years to come. The trademark notched-tip
boards were the precursors to the high-tech H-Type

Team rider Bertrand Denervaud wins his first ISF
Overall World champion title - something he would do
three more times in the coming years.

The release of the DELTA freestyle board. A board of
exceptional foresight which even back in the day was
similar to current freestyle set-ups, with a width of 24.25,
an effective edge of 118 cm, and an overall length of
155.

The first Santa Cruz catalog is available. A
straightforward four page catalog which contained our
product line, with five boards offered.

The introduction of the first race boards which feature
internal shift. Also, one of the only -companies to retain
symmetric race board shapes realizing that they are
more effective.

The Eccentric binding hits the slopes, one of the first
bindings to allow improved lateral movement, similar to
bindings of today.

...to the present.

,

Santa Cruz creates some of the Lightest bindings on
the market, a title achieved thanks to our aircraft
aluminuimum pin construction.

The New York Museum of Modern art exhibits one of
our H-Types as an exemplary use of modern material
and design in sporting equipment. The H-Type is also
featured in their book Mutant Materials in Contemporary
Design.

A tremendous move forward, we present our innovative
transparent sandwich construction. This process greatly
reduces the weight of boards by minimizing heavier silk
screening procedures

.The infamous Sensor Wood Core, a poplar core which
has become a highly regarded Santa Cruz feature.
These cores are superior due to a two year curing
process which eliminates the possibility of warping or
shrinkage.

Consumer' rights! Different width boards are made
available to accommodate various foot sizes and
stances. A process exclusive to Santa Cruz, and we
continue to be the sole company catering so specifically
to rider's needs.

The Vitamin D soft boot is introduced - a
groundbreaking linerless design which dramatically
reduces profile and weight.

Our revolutionary lightweight pin system is introduced
into our bindings. Such a system reduces hardware and
increases adjustability. building on this idea, our current
offerings retain this original concept, yet are even further
streamlined.

The Rider's Choice concept is born. A new concept in
the industry: Boards built around the very specific
demands of our team riders to be the best possible
boards for their given area of use.
