Ok, lets assume stocks go straight up. Everyone just invest every penny you have in the stock market. Good idea, right?

Except now everyone, including the pizza delivery boy, is a millionaire. That pizza will be $21,709, please. A new BMW will be a steal at $692,836.

And your modest three bedroom home on 1/4 acre will now be 1.5 million dollars.

Oops, that last one has already happened in Seattle and Silicon Valley. The two areas with the largest concentration of stock option millionaires in the world. Coincidence?

It's called inflation. Whether it's through federal intervention through currency markets, or insanity in the equities markets. It all eventually has the same impact.
