Well, 1400 urgent emails to our site say otherwise. And there's also this:

Next-Gen Net for sale: WebNode.com said Thursday that it had won an exclusive contract with the US Department of Energy's Office of Science to sell 40 million nodes on the Next-Generation Internet for $100 apiece.

Nodes are essentially routes for getting around on the Internet. By selling the nodes, the government hopes to raise the funds needed to pay for the state-of-the-art fiber-optic Net, WebNode.com said.

Webnode.com is a division of BZE International, which calls itself a "leader in e-commerce for government entities." The company is pushing nodes as an investment opportunity, projecting that increased Internet traffic will drive up the value of heavily used nodes in the short-term, and all nodes in the long run.
