YHOO's future performance is based around the success of web advertising. Everyone in the ad business (myself included, as a newspaper publisher) knows that web advertising isn't working and won't work.

I think some clarification is in order here. I mean what exactly are you talking about? Viewers don't "click through" on TV ads, but they are obviously still valuable. These Internet banner ads (soon to be multimedia) reach, potentially, millions of viewers. Furthermore, they can target niche audiences.

I'm sure you are very knowledgeable about the ad business, but you're leaving something out when you say what you said above.

By chance, I inquired earlier today about the rates for advertising a web site on quote.yahoo.com. I'd love to be able to target that audience with a banner. If you're guaranteeing me that is a waste of money, I find that very interesting to say the least.
