The server in X is the program that runs X. IT is a "server" program like X itslef is server. Yes specify the SVGA server if config does not "autoselect" it for you. There are other servers too such as card specific accelerated servers.. a lot of them work less than well. But go ahead and try them. Read the docs in /docs directory on the various servers. The VGA16 server will work with any monitor card combo. I predict you will have a lot of trouble. X is a long story.
