Investor 2 Re <<Cymer believes that Lambda-Physik and Komatsu are aggressively seeking to gain larger positions in this market. Cymer believes that its customers have each purchased one or more products offered by these competitors and that its customers will continue to actively qualify these competitors' lasers in their search for a second source. >>

And which part of this is new? All these statements have been true for at least 18 months.

Cymer has invested an enormous amount of money building their world wide support infrastructure. That can not happen over night and as far as I know neither Lambda nor Komatsu have even started to do this. Perhaps is due to the fact that they have no installed base to support or no revenue to fund this operation with.

It has been stated time after time that equipment makers and chipmaker alike much rather have a secondary source of lasers just in case Cymer gets too greedy with their pricing policy, or have supply problem. The latter is virtually impossible now.

I am not a big bull on CYMI but not due to competition.
