Yes, they were bought by a small NY mutual fund company. I don't remember if I've already posted the details here, but here's a copy of what i wrote up at the Internet Fund FAn club bulletin board:

: There's an article at smartmoney.com (March 25, 1999)
: under mutual funds regarding the possiblity of new
: ownership. However, Ryan Jacobs will still be at the
: helm choosing his investments. I hope if this happens
: everything will work out O.K. I just love this fund.

Yeah, breaking news. Most important thing is that Ryan Jacob
continues to be the fund manager, and he will. I was quite surprised
by the fact the new owners (Lepercq) are a fairly obscure
fund company. I've been expecting new ownership
ever since the January article from fortune magazine
speculated that the mutual fund arm of insurance
company MONY was in buyout talks.

Well, here are the relevant article which cover the details:

Special thanks to Danny Hakim of Smartmoney.com who broke the
news and is always on top of any news affecting WWWFX. Check
out all his articles in the Smartmoney.com archives.
