I don't know how the Bay and ocean shoreline rate by themselves. Easton is a pretty area, although I usually pass it by on the highway on the way to the ocean. As for your friend, you must understand that in the last 20 or 30 years, Annapolis has become an "outer suburb" of D.C. and Baltimore--- it takes me an hour in moderate traffic to get to the National Gallery (40 minutes in very good traffic), and about 30-40 minutes to Baltimore's Inner Harbor. Many are city- people....I like bluefish (but mainly smoked), trout, and salmon, although your selections sound good. Around here, though, shellfish is particularly favored, since we have abundant crabs, oysters, and clams. Another odd fact--- the blue crab is only found in the Chesapeake and the Gulf of Mexico. Maryland is so identified with crabs that when I went to the New York World's Fair as a child, the Maryland pavilion was focused on it. |
