When I contacted Matt Moore of the Panama City New Herald, He emailed back that he had seen the Oil & Gas Journal story (Feb 8, 1999) and had written a follow up interview on February 12, 1999. I dug up his interview and posted it here. I sent him the Michigan vs Miller Brothers story in the form of the Detroit Free Press Article of May 8, 1998 and He has not responded to that yet. If you see my comment to Henry on how the Michigan settlement and the Oil & Gas J. estimates of the potential amount of oil play together, you can see the basis for the dillema facing Florida. My suggestion for a compromise settlement involving a cash payment up front plus a yearly no drilling fee seems fair. I think that most of us would be willing to settle for a double digit stock price immediately with the prospect of an eventual triple digit price in the future when the oil is finally developed. If the oil is there, it will ultimately be developed.
